The O'Keefe Outstanding Volunteer Achievement Award

南本德,印第安纳州。native, Kathryn has “raised her hand” regularly over the years. With two sons, she spent time as a Cub Scout den mom, chair of grade school book fairs, ice cream socials, and later post-prom parties at their high school. She has taught ‘Tiny Seed’ and Baptism prep classes at her parishes, plus been a stocker at the food pantry.

As a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors, she helped build homes for Habitat for Humanity, hauling shingles and hanging vinyl siding! A 50+ year member of the local Christ Child Society Chapter, she has sewn layettes for the hospital, soft toys for the holiday bazaar, and winter hats for the children. For 37 years, she was a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, a philanthropic organization. “I was cheeseball chairman for too many years to count, cranking out 4,000+ cheeseballs every November to raise money for children with speech and hearing difficulties.”

Recently, she has made quilts for veterans and received blankets for Haitian babies. “I have loved every project and have met such generous people, much like each of you, and I hope to continue for many more years.”
